About Stack — Tower Building Block Stacking Game Online
Stack is a tower-building game stripped down to a single action: a tap. It belongs to a wave of mobile games that proved a hit can be built from one perfectly tuned mechanic, and few are as clean as this one. There is nothing to read and nothing to learn — a block slides, you tap, and the tower grows.
Each turn a block drifts back and forth above the top of your tower. Tap to drop it. Whatever part of the block hangs over the edge of the block below is sliced clean off and tumbles away, so the block you keep is only the part that overlapped. The tower climbs, the camera rises with it, and the blocks shift through a slow rainbow of colour as you go.
The whole game lives in that moment of release. Drop a block dead-centre and it is a perfect — nothing is lost, and the block even grows back a little wider. Drop it carelessly and each slice whittles your tower thinner until a block is barely a sliver. Miss the tower entirely and the run is over. How high can a steady hand climb?
Tips & strategy
Find a rhythm. Tap in a steady beat with the sliding block rather than stabbing at it in a panic — timing is everything here.
Chase perfects. A perfectly aligned drop loses nothing and grows the block back a little, so a streak of them can rescue a thin tower.
Watch an edge, not the middle. Pick one side of the block and release as that edge crosses the edge below — it is easier to judge than the centre.
The tower speeds up the higher you climb. Commit to your tap a fraction earlier as the block moves faster.
When a block has shrunk to a sliver, slow down and aim for a perfect — one more sloppy slice and there is nothing left.
Do not over-correct. If the block is close, a small confident tap beats waiting for it to swing all the way back around.
A perfect streak is shown as a combo. Keeping it alive is the surest way to a tall, wide, stable tower.
Every block you place earns coins, and perfects pay a bonus that grows with your combo. Spend those coins on block themes from the Start screen — chasing perfects is also the fastest way to unlock them.
Frequently asked questions
How do you play Stack?
A block slides back and forth above your tower. Tap anywhere (or press space) to drop it. Stack the blocks as high as you can — the game is all about timing each drop.
What is a perfect drop?
A perfect drop is when you release the block almost exactly above the one below. Nothing is sliced off, and the block grows back a little wider — perfects are how you keep your tower from getting too thin.
Why do my blocks keep getting smaller?
Any part of a block that hangs over the edge of the block below is sliced off when you drop it. Each imperfect drop trims the block down, so sloppy timing slowly shrinks your tower.
How does the game end?
The run ends when a block has no overlap at all with the tower below it — it simply misses and falls away. Your height is the number of blocks you stacked.
Does the game get faster?
Yes. The block slides a little faster with every level you build, so the higher your tower the sharper your timing has to be.
Is my best height saved?
Yes. Your tallest tower is stored in your browser and shown each game, so there is always a personal record to climb past.
What are the coins and block themes for?
You earn coins as you stack — one per block plus a combo bonus for perfects. From the Start screen you can spend them to unlock and equip colourful block themes like Sunset, Candy or Gold. Coins and unlocks are saved in your browser, so they carry across runs.
